Groundtech A2 Series — 3D Ground Scanner

The A2 is a ground-scanning device with six scanning modes, transmitting readings to the Groundtech Portal app (Android and iOS) for real-time 3D analysis, in addition to results shown on its own integrated screen.

Manufacturer-Stated Specifications

• Scanning modes: 3D ground scanning, quick scan, pinpointer, live scanning, advanced scan mode, and 3D ground scanning detector mode
• Maximum depth: Manufacturer states up to 20 metres, depending on target size and soil structure — a manufacturer-stated figure we can't independently verify
• Stated detectable targets: Magnetic metals (iron, steel) and non-magnetic metals (gold, silver, copper), plus cavities such as graves, rooms, and tunnels, per the manufacturer
• Sensor technology: MFS-3 dual sensor

A2-GEO Variant

The A2-GEO adds a Geo-Electric system, which the manufacturer states can detect groundwater sources, tunnels, tombs, and caves at greater depth via four-line scanning, analyzed through the Groundtech Suite app. As with the standard A2's depth claims, this is a manufacturer specification we haven't independently verified.

What This Device Is — and Isn't

This is a specialized, technique-dependent tool, not a point-and-find detector. Results depend on correct technique, consistent handling, and site conditions.

We'll say this plainly: this category of ground-scanning device is debated within the metal detecting and treasure-hunting community, and results can vary significantly by operator, technique, and site conditions.
