Choosing a Detector for Canadian Ground
Canadian gold country tends to run heavily mineralized — think the Cariboo, the North Saskatchewan, Yukon placer ground — which is hard on detectors that aren't built to handle ground noise. Multi-frequency and pulse induction (PI) technology, found in machines like the GPZ 7000 and GPX 6000, generally cope with this kind of ground better than older single-frequency VLF units.
