Correct Usage
Start at the lower-left corner of the search area and finish at the upper-right corner, using a zig-zag search pattern
Face south or north before starting
Press the reset button once before beginning
Keep the same orientation and body position throughout the sweep
Maintain a consistent distance from the ground at all times — movement toward or away from the soil can produce false signals
Practice on a known test area for several days before relying on results, to build familiarity and reduce false readings
